It all started in a red barn in the back yard

Red Barn Coffee Roasters is a family owned and operated specialty coffee roaster, retailer and wholesaler established in February, 1997. What began in an authentic New England style barn on their rural property in Hopkinton, MA, Mark and Lisa Verrochi were pioneers in the specialty coffee industry in the Northeast and have a strong reputation for roasting great coffee.

Over the years, Red Barn has grown tremendously, and now conducts its roasting operations out of a full size warehouse in neighboring Upton, MA. Red Barn supports over 100 wholesale partners throughout New England, and operates 5 company-owned cafes--two of which serve lunch and offer a full catering service. Introduced in 2013, a growing licensing program supports local entrepreneurs who wish to open up a Red Barn cafe of their own, leveraging a brand trusted for quality.

For nearly 20 years, Red Barn Coffee has offered higher quality single origin varietals from around the globe, cold brewed iced coffee, Water processed decaf coffees, a full line of Organics, Fair Trade, Direct Trade, and naturally flavored coffees. New in 2016, all Red Barn Cafes now offer Cold Brew On Tap - a traditional cold brew iced coffee, nitrogen-infused and served from a tap for a hand-crafted experience.

About the Owners

Mark and Lisa both grew up in New England before pursuing careers that brought them around the world. Lisa, a registered nurse, worked in hospitals across the country, following her husband Mark, retired Navy Captain, over a 30-year active and reserve career as a Navy Special Operations officer. After traveling the world in the military, it was at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Keyport, WA where they discovered their passion for specialty coffee. As a transition out of active duty, they returned to their New England home to raise a family and start a coffee roasting business in the barn in their backyard.
